Police want to identify a man they say stole a bicycle from a condo building who might also be responsible for a string of recent bicycle thefts around Bethesda.

On Thursday, police released an image of the suspect from a surveillance camera at what appears to be the Crescent Plaza Condominium at 7111 Woodmont Avenue.

Police said the suspect, a black male who’s 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 tall, stole the bicycle from the condo on Oct. 30. At this time, the suspect is wanted only for that theft.

But in a press release, police said several bicycle thefts have been reported from a number of apartment buildings around Bethesda, though “it is unknown at this time how many of these thefts are related.”
Detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section have exhausted all leads, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the 2nd District Investigate Section at 240-773-6710. Callers may remain anonymous.
