A handmade vintage crafts market is coming in July to the Bethesda Metro Plaza.
URBNmarket, founded by a pair of Bethesda women last year, will host its next market on July 17 and July 18 on the plaza next to the Bethesda Metro station entrance.
Julie Greenstein and Debbie Sonnenreich started URBNmarket Bethesda to tap into local crafts makers who sell jewelry, houseware, clothes and other types of handmade items.
The first two markets were at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (5020 Battery Lane).
The outdoor market will take advantage of a largely unused space in the center of downtown Bethesda. Neighboring property owners are at odds about whether to build a new structure on the property and create a park farther from the intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Wisconsin Avenue.
