Modern Market will open its new Bethesda Row location Monday.

It will be the Denver-based chain’s first in the Mid-Atlantic with additional locations planned in Rockville, Reston and Washington, D.C., according to the company.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a weekend brunch, with an emphasis on healthy food. Menu items include a variety of eggs, breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, brick oven pizzas, soups and “homestyle plates,” such as chicken breast or flank steak served with sides including mashed potatoes or fruit salad.

Pete Petrilli, who is handling the company’s Mid-Atlantic expansion, said in June the company chose to enter the regional market by opening a Bethesda restaurant as it expands beyond Colorado, Texas and Arizona where it has about 20 restaurants and is opening more.

The Bethesda restaurant fills the former Boloco burrito location on the Bethesda Row side of Elm Street. The Rockville location will open at Congressional Plaza, according to the company’s website.
