What’s Coming to Pike & Rose?

The second phase of construction is underway at Federal Realty’s Pike & Rose development along Rockville Pike in North Bethesda.
The opening of Nike a month ago rounds out the recent additions to the development, which now includes retail stores such as Gap and a Lucky Brand jeans outlet and restaurants including Carluccio’s, ShopHouse and Stella Barra Pizzeria, City Perch Kitchen & Bar and Del Frisco’s Grille.
The next opening will be Owen’s Ordinary, which is set for October, said Jill McCarthy, director of marketing for Pike & Rose. The 175-seat restaurant and 60-seat beer garden will include a wide selection of draft beers and a bar built into the building’s façade.
Aside from Owen’s Ordinary, no other openings are slated for this year. There will be a construction break over the winter—although the development will still host its PIKEtoberfest and tree-lighting events.
Work on the development will continue in the spring with the opening of REI sometime in the middle of the season, McCarthy said. The outdoor recreation retail center is relocating from Rockville into a bigger space in Pike & Rose, which will become its department flagship.
The Henri apartment complex will join the existing Pallas and PerSei after pre-leasing begins in March with an opening planned for in mid-summer, McCarthy said. Construction will continue on other projects, such as a Porsche dealership and a park between some of the buildings. The developer also received approval from the county Planning Board this week to scale back the number of residential units planned for another building.
In the coming months, Pike & Rose will announce more stores and restaurants that will open in the development.
