Montgomery County District Court Judge Jeannie Cho and Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Dwyer were appointed Friday to the Montgomery County Circuit Court by Gov. Larry Hogan, the governor’s office announced.
The governor made the appointments after reviewing nominees provided by current and previous judicial nominating commissions, according to a press release from his office.
Cho has served in county District Court since 2012. Before her appointment to the bench, she was a partner in the Rockville-based law firm Hall & Cho. Previously, Cho was with Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker. She also served as an assistant state’s attorney for Montgomery and Howard counties.
Cho received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She received her law degree from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans.
Debra “Deb” Dwyer has been an assistant U.S. attorney in Maryland since 2002. She was formerly the deputy chief of the U.S. Justice Department’s Organized Crime and Gang Section Division. Dwyer holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and an master of science degree in law enforcement administration from American University. She received her law degree from the Washington College of Law.
