Montgomery County police released an image Thursday of a blurry dark-colored vehicle caught on surveillance video that investigators believe may be related to a hate-based incident at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg.

Police said part of the school’s football field had been vandalized Oct. 13 by someone who used a “caustic substance” to create a swastika and “images of male genitalia” on the grass of the football field.

Surveillance footage from the period when the vandalism occurred shows the vehicle entering the school’s parking lot and parking around midnight, according to police. A short time later, the car left the lot.

Police described the vehicle as a dark-colored, mid-size, four-door sedan with the headlight on the passenger’s side shining brighter than the driver’s side headlight.

Anyone with information about the vandalism or the vehicle is asked to call 240-773-6084.

The Quince Orchard football team is one of the best in the county and currently has a 7-1 record. On Oct. 14, the school played one of its biggest football rivals—Germantown’s Northwest High School—and won the game 24-21 at Northwest.
