An RV caught fire on the Beltway in Bethesda Sunday afternoon, leading crews to block several lanes of traffic, according to fire officials.
The fire occurred on the inner loop between River Road and the I-270 spur at about 2 p.m., Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer reported.
Officials believe the fire was the result of the vehicle’s brakes igniting, Piringer tweeted.
Emergency responders were at the scene of another vehicle fire on a semi-tractor trailer at about 3 p.m. on the inner loop on the Beltway near Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, according to Piringer.
