Moon’s country club bill could generate $10 million for Montgomery County
Del. David Moon has proposed state legislation to change how country clubs are assessed in Montgomery County that could generate about $10 million per year in tax revenue for the county, according to a state fiscal analysis. Currently, most country clubs in the county are assessed at land values of $1,000 per acre under agreements with the state intended to prevent them from developing the land. The low assessment rate reduces the club’s property tax payments. [Seventh State]
