A house in the 5300 block of Briley Place was broken into between noon and 2 p.m. Jan. 19. Property was taken.

Thefts from vehicle

A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy from Washington, D.C., were arrested in connection to a vehicle break-in on the 4800 block of Cordell Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Jan. 19. Property had been taken.

Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles on Sherrill and North Park avenues, Sangamore and Corland roads, 76th Street and Westpath Way between Jan. 15 and 21. No force was reported.

Property was taken from a house in the 9700 block of Old Spring Drive between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18. There were no signs of forced entry.

Property was taken from a house, its garage and a car parked there on the 5200 block of Strathmore Avenue overnight on Jan. 22. There were no signs of forced entry. The garage door had been left open and the door leading to the house was unlocked.

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from vehicles on MacArthur Boulevard, Carmelita Drive and Kendale and River roads between Jan. 16 and 19. Forced entry was reported in multiple thefts.

A car was stolen from a rear parking lot in the 14000 block of Cove Lane between 3:30 and 3:40 p.m. Jan. 17.

Stolen clarinet

An unattended case containing a clarinet was taken from a mailroom at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Congressional Lane between 8 and 8:10 p.m. Jan. 18.

Armed robbery

Four men approached a man and ordered him to get on the ground near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Gail Avenue between 10:28 and 10:42 p.m. Jan. 20. Two of the men pulled out a handgun and a knife. They stole the man’s wallet, cellphone and backpack and fled along Gail Avenue.

Jewelry was stolen from a house in the 900 block of Farm Haven Drive between Jan. 17 and 22.

Anti-Semitic drawings

An unknown person drew an anti-Semitic symbol and wording on a desk and paperwork in a building on on the 1500 block of Dunster Road between 7:35 a.m. and noon. Richie Park Elementary School and St. Raphael School, a Catholic elementary school, are both on that block.

Two male robbers displayed weapons, assaulted a boy and took his property in the 8000 block of Eastern Avenue at 11:06 p.m. Jan. 20.

Attempted commercial armed robbery

Two men attempted to take medications and cash from Rite Aid at 1411 East West Highway at 1:56 p.m. Jan. 22. One implied he had a weapon.

Residential burglary

A 38-year-old man from Silver Spring was arrested in connection to a burglary in the 2100 block of Hildarose Drive between 4 and 8:15 a.m. Jan. 20. There were no signs of forced entry (the door had been left unlocked) and nothing was taken.
