A man carrying a wooden board with protruding nails robbed a downtown Silver Spring 7-Eleven on Georgia Avenue early Sunday morning while customers were inside, according to Montgomery County police.

After entering the store, the man approached an employee working behind the counter and demanded cash from the register, according to a Montgomery County police press release issued Wednesday. He fled on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

The armed robbery occurred just before 7 a.m. at the 8202 Georgia Ave. store, according to police.

Police are asking the public for help identifying the man and released a video of the robbery Wednesday. In the video, the man, wearing a dark hoodie, walks directly to the register, which is slightly out of frame.
