Bethesda Magazine has been selected as a finalist for the Digital Awards, presented by FOLIO, a publication covering the magazine publishing industry.
Bethesda Magazine was nominated for the Digital Brand Extension Award for Bethesda Beat. Other finalists for Digital Awards include NBC News’ Meet the Press, ESPN, and Forbes Media.
“The Digital Awards are among the most sought after and prestigious in the publishing industry,” said Steve Hull, editor and publisher of Bethesda Magazine and Bethesda Beat. “We are honored to be a finalist along with so many great national media brands.”
The winners will be announced during an April 5 awards luncheon in New York City.
“The 2018 class of finalists truly represent the best of the best in the digital space—each winner, honorable mention and special award recipient has pushed the boundaries of digital content, product development and audience engagement,” said the announcement of finalists posted on the FOLIO website.
Launched in 2014, Bethesda Beat employs three reporters and a managing editor and covers a wide range of local news in Montgomery County. The website recently hit a new milestone, garnering 1 million pageviews in January, Hull said.
“While being a finalist for the FOLIO award is great, we are most honored by the fact that tens of thousands of Bethesda-area residents turn to us each day to get their local news,” he said.
