A Ride On bus driver was assaulted and pepper-sprayed earlier this month after telling three people to leave a bus in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County police.

Police released Monday surveillance photos of the three people who were kicked off the bus on March 7.

The three people had boarded the bus near Nicholson Court that day, according to police. The driver told police the three were disorderly and disturbing the other passengers, and the driver asked them to stop. They continued their behavior and so the driver stopped the bus on Westlake Drive near Arizona Circle, and told the three to leave the bus.

As they exited, one spit on the driver, according to police. The driver stepped off the bus and “was immediately assaulted, and pepper sprayed” by one of the tree people, police wrote in a press release.

Police did not specify who spit on the driver and who assaulted the driver.

The driver was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.
