Bethesda Row restaurant Redwood, which closed at the start of the year, won’t be reopening.
The space is listed as available for lease through the website of Federal Realty, the developer that oversees Bethesda Row.
The American-style restaurant had spanned a long stretch of pedestrian-only Bethesda Lane, and its space is being split into three separate storefronts for businesses to move into, according to the website.
Redwood owner Jared Rager did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday morning or multiple requests for comment last month. The restaurant had closed after it was damaged by flooding caused by bursting pipes on New Year’s Day. Local blogger Robert Dyer first reported the space was listed as available for lease.
Rager had initially claimed the restaurant would open a week after the flooding incident, then said he wasn’t sure how long it would take to repair the “extensive” damages, but insisted he still planned to reopen.
