Baltimore Sun endorses Ben Jealous for governor in Democratic primary
The paper’s editorial board cited the former NAACP president’s leadership of the organization and his policy proposals to make college tuition free and provide Medicare for all in Maryland in its endorsement. Teen charged with bringing stolen handgun to Paint Branch High School
Police said Elijah C. Nyamekye, 17, of Silver Spring, was charged as an adult with possessing a stolen handgun at the Burtonsville school after he attempted to use a false name to enter the building. He fled from the school after an encounter with security and police later arrested him after spotting him walking on Briggs Chaney Road at Columbia Pike. At that time, an officer found the revolver on the teen, which had been reported stolen from Pennsylvania. [Montgomery County police]
