Trump could consider nominating former Bethesda resident to Supreme Court vacancy
Brett Kavanaugh, one of the chief contenders for nomination to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court, grew up in Bethesda. He rose to prominence in the 1990s when, as a protege of Kenneth Starr, he helped write the Starr Report that detailed the relationship between Monica Lewinsky and then-President Bill Clinton. He now serves as a federal appeals judge in D.C., and his wife is the town manager of Chevy Chase Village. In historic first, women will occupy all seats on Montgomery County school board
The Montgomery County school board will be composed entirely of female members for the first time in its history, beginning later this year. The primary election last week eliminated all the male candidates for open seats on the board of education. Silver Spring man charged in three-car crash in Virginia
A Silver Spring man has been charged in connection with a three-car crash that injured a woman in Virginia. Renzo Angus, 29, is accused of driving while intoxicated in the June 16 collision in Dumfries. Police say Angus drove through a red light and struck a car that was turning left into a shopping center. [Prince William Times]
