Moby Dick House of Kabob customers don’t have far to travel to reach the chain’s new downtown Bethesda restaurant—it’s right next door to its former location.
The chain announced June 28 that it had moved to a larger, adjacent spot at 7023 Wisconsin Ave. A YouTube video posted on the chain’s Facebook page includes Moby Dick Chief Development Officer Alex Momeni giving a brief tour of the new location during the lunch rush hour on opening day.
“It’s a very emotional day for us here at Moby. The first-ever Moby Dick that we opened in 1989 here on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda is now officially closed,” Momeni said, as he stood outside the original location. “But not to worry. We opened a brand-new state-of-the-art facility right next door.”
In June, the chain, which offers Persian and Mediterranean food, won “favorite fast bites of the year” in the 36th annual RAMMY Awards competition sponsored by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.
The chain has locations in Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Potomac, Rockville and Olney, as well as other communities in Maryland and Virginia.
