Musiq Soulchild—Friday and Saturday night—Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, Bethesda
Musiq Soulchild, famous for bringing together the sounds of soul, funk and hip hop, is performing at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club on Friday and Saturday nights. Musiq Soulchild was listed as No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after the release of his second album, “Juslisen,” in 2002. His fourth album, “Luvanmusiq,” also made the Billboard 200 chart.
Tickets range from $69.50 to $78. Performances are scheduled for 7 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
An Evening With Al Stewart—Friday night—AMP by Strathmore, North Bethesda
Al Stewart, a popular folk singer during the ’60s and ’70s is performing at AMP by Strathmore on Friday night. At his peak, he opened for The Rolling Stones and recorded with Jimmy Page.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $30 to $50. Doors open 90 minutes before the performance.
Tory Lanez: Memories Don’t Die Tour—Friday night—The Fillmore, Silver Spring
R&B and rap singer and producer Tory Lanez is coming to The Fillmore on Friday night where he’ll perform hits from his second album, “Memories Don’t Die,” produced in March 2018. Lanez has been listed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists list.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $30 to $35.
Paper Dreams—Saturday morning through July 29—Imagination Stage, Bethesda
For the first time, Imagination Stage is bringing to life a dance performance in the show, Paper Dreams, which tells the story of two characters that live in a wastepaper basket. The performance comes from collaboration with Mons Dansa Dance Co. in Barcelona.
Tickets are $12 and the show is intended for ages 1 to 5. The show will run from 11:15 a.m. to noon in the Reeve Studio Theatre. Another performance will run from 11:15 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Rockville Rotary Twilight 8k Runfest—Saturday night—Rockville Town Center, Rockville
The 33rd annual Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest returns to downtown Rockville this Saturday evening with a 1-mile family fun run and 8k run. The 8k is USATF certified and the route passes through Rockville neighborhoods and the Montgomery College campus. A post-race party will include refreshments and a live performance by the band Sons of Pirates.
On-site registration is $45 for participants ages 15 and over and $20 for participants ages 14 and under. Registration is $35 for the family fun run, which includes tickets for two adults and unlimited kids. The pre-race festival begins at 6:30 p.m. with activities and vendors selling food. The fun run starts at 7:45 p.m. and the 8k race kicks off at 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of North Washington Street and East Middle Lane in downtown Rockville.
Washington Spirit vs. Houston Dash—Saturday night—Maryland SoccerPlex, Germantown
The Washington-area women’s professional soccer team, the Washington Spirit, is taking on the Houston Dash on Saturday night at the stadium in the SoccerPlex in Germantown. The Washington Spirit’s roster includes U.S. women soccer stars such as Mallory Pugh and Silver Spring native Joanna Lohman.
The game begins at 7 p.m. and ticket prices range from $20 for general admission to $50 for field-side seats.
Saturday Summer ParTees at Northwest—Saturday night—Northwest Golf Course, Silver Spring
A summer party with a live DJ, food trucks, yard games and putting and driving range contests with prizes will take over the Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring this Saturday night for the third party of the season.
The party runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Northwest Golf Course is at 15611 Layhill Road.
