Here is what you need to know about candidates running for county executive, County Council, school board and other Montgomery County offices and also seats representing the county in the Maryland General Assembly and Congress.

Bethesda Beat’s 2018 General Election Voters’ Guide includes information about candidates running for Republican and Democratic nominations and in nonpartisan races in the Nov. 6 election.

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order, grouped by political party. In addition to providing biographical information, candidates answered questions about what they think are important issues in each race and why they are qualified for the position they are seeking.

“Providing information to voters for an election is one of the most important functions of a news organization,” said editor Andrew Schotz, who produced the guide for Bethesda Beat. “We went to great lengths to reach and remind candidates as much as possible, so we could have the most complete, extensive and accurate information possible.”

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
