A North Bethesda man was struck and killed while trying to cross Rockville Pike Thursday night, Montgomery County police said.
Police identified the victim as Brett Richard Badin, 32, of the 11800 block of Old Georgetown Road.
Police said in a press release late Thursday night that Badin was trying to cross Rockville Pike near its intersection with Wootton Parkway/1st Street around 6:33 p.m. He was struck by a southbound 2014 Honda Accord driven by Kathatorn Nonceeya, 61, of Rockville.
Badin died of his injuries at the scene, police said. Neither Nonceeya nor a woman who was a passenger in the car was injured.
The fatal crash was the second on Rockville Pike in less than 24 hours. A pedestrian was also killed on Rockville Pike Wednesday night about two miles south from the site of Thursday night’s crash.
Three pedestrians have been struck and killed by motorists in Montgomery County this year, starting on Jan. 6.
