The number of COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County has increased by more than 100 for seven consecutive days.

On Tuesday, the county added 157 cases — an increase of 0.62% from Monday’s total. 

On 16 days in October, the county has added 100 cases or more — twice the number of days as it did in September. 

On Tuesday, the county recorded two new confirmed deaths from the virus, according to the Maryland Department of Health, bringing the county’s total to 829 confirmed deaths.

There have been 40 “probable” deaths. “Probable” deaths have the virus listed as the cause of death but have not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.

Across Maryland, there have been 141,741 cases, a 0.64% increase from Monday. There have been 3,962 confirmed deaths from the virus across the state.
