Montgomery County recorded 226 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday morning — the county’s largest daily increase in five months.
The county has had 26,777 cases, a 0.85% increase from Wednesday.
The county has added more than 100 cases for the last 16 days. Thursday was the first time since early June that the increase was more than 200.
Montgomery County recorded four new confirmed deaths on Thursday, bringing its total to 841, according to the Maryland Department of Health.
There have been 41 “probable” deaths. “Probable” deaths have the coronavirus listed as the cause of death on certificates but have not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.
Across Maryland on Thursday, there have been 149,964 cases — a 0.81% increase from Wednesday.
There have been 4,035 confirmed deaths from the virus statewide.
