Officials this week finished counting Montgomery County voters’ ballots for the recent general election and plan to certify results in December.
About 79.5% of eligible voters cast ballots in the election, according to the Montgomery County Board of Elections. In 2016, the county’s turnout was 73.6%.
Canvassers finished counting ballots on Monday and conducted an audit this week before final certification next week.
The vote totals include mail-in ballots, provisional ballots, and votes cast in person on Election Day or during the early-voting period.
According to local data, 377,889 Montgomery County residents requested mail-in ballots, and 348,255 ballots were returned to the Board of Elections, for a 92% return rate.
