A house fire on Wednesday night near Wheaton displaced a family.
The fire started in the attic of a single-family home in the 2800 block of Parker Avenue, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.
Piringer wrote on Twitter that the family was not home and a passerby reported the fire to police. No injuries were reported.
The fire was started by faulty electric wiring, Piringer wrote, and the damage is estimated around $200,000.
