The last two weeks, Montgomery County has had fewer than 100 new daily COVID-19 cases for all but two days.
On Monday morning, the county reported 42 new cases, bringing its total to 69,964.
The only exceptions the past two weeks were Thursday, with 111, and April 21, with 104.
The lowest daily case count in the last two weeks was 23 cases on April 19.
The county reported no additional confirmed COVID-19 deaths on Monday, leaving its count at 1,477.
There also have been 46 “probable” deaths. “Probable” deaths have the coronavirus listed as the cause of death on certificates but have not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.
Across Maryland, 520 additional cases were reported Monday morning. The state has now had 449,509 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
There have been 8,585 people confirmed to have died from the virus in the state. More than 950 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
