Firepan Korean BBQ, a Falls Church, Va., restaurant, will expand to downtown Silver Spring this year, a manager confirmed to Bethesda Beat on Tuesday.

Firepan BBQ serves beef, pork, chicken and seafood entrees marinated with ingredients such as soy sauce, miso and garlic. Most entrees are $11 to $20.

Firepan also serves dishes such as spicy tofu soup, soybean paste stew, spicy Korean beef and vegetable soup, and Bibimbap (rice with mixed vegetables and fried egg).

Oti Munkhbat, the manager of the Virginia restaurant, told Bethesda Beat on Tuesday that the restaurant is expanding to Silver Spring.

“It’s under construction now. We’re hoping it’s going to open in November,” she said.

Source of the Spring reported last week that Firepan would be coming to 962 Wayne Ave., replacing Pete’s New Haven Style Apizza, which closed in 2018. A photo of the space shows the restaurant’s signage in the window indicating that it will open in the fall.
