Yet another Shake Shack appears to be headed to Montgomery County.

The popular New York-based burger and milkshake chain had announced its plans this month to expand to Bethesda and Gaithersburg. Now, it also plans to set up shop on in the former Arby’s space on Rockville Pike in North Bethesda.

A construction plan submitted by the Boston-based architect Bergmeyer Associates Inc. shows that a renovation proposal for 11710 Rockville Pike. The construction plan was posted to the website Construction Journal, which is a database for construction project information. According to the plan, the restaurant would seat 54 inside and 24 on an outdoor patio.

The Washington Business Journal first reported on Shake Shack’s construction plans for replacing the Arby’s.

Shake Shack opened its first Montgomery County location nearly three years ago in Potomac’s Cabin John Village shopping center. This month, the chain announced that it plans to open one in the food court of Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery mall later this year, and Gaithersburg’s Kentlands retail development next year.

In response to questions from Bethesda Beat on Thursday about the proposed North Bethesda location, Shake Shack spokeswoman Katie Scott wrote in an email that she could only confirm the chain’s plans for expansion in Bethesda and Gaithersburg.
