The Montgomery County Planning Board this week will consider approving the second phase of a development in Montgomery Village that would include 83 residences.

It would be near the intersection of Montgomery Village Avenue and Centerway Road.

The second phase of the project includes 49 townhomes and 34 “two-over-twos,” similar to townhomes.

The townhomes would be three stories and range from 1,072 to 1,529 square feet. Each would have rear balconies and garages, according to Planning Board documents.

The two-over-twos would be four stories, with each unit being two stories.

The Planning Board will consider the proposal at a meeting on Thursday.


The first phase of development, underway now at the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, includes retail and commercial space. Plans include a Big Lots, Aldi, Starbucks, CVS and Bank of America, among others.

A representative of the developer, W-ARC, could not be reached for comment on Monday.

In total, the project will include about 450,000 square feet of residential development and 165,000 square feet of new commercial space. Buildings cannot be taller than 75 feet, according to Planning Board documents.


The developer has proposed about 214 parking spaces for residences and 489 for retail uses.
