A local hummus restaurant chain said Thursday it is adding a new location in Bethesda.

Little Sesame, which has two locations in Washington, D.C., is opening a shop in Bethesda Row at 7118 Bethesda Lane this year, according to a news release.

Little Sesame serves freshly spun hummus, seasonal pita sandwiches and other products.

The 1,200-square-foot shop will have 20 indoor and 20 outdoor seats, and have a designated area for picking up orders.

“We’ve always wanted to open a shop in Bethesda,” Little Sesame co-founder Nick Wiseman said in a prepared statement. “We got such a warm welcome to our Sugar Fox Pop Up and the Bethesda Central Farm Market and we’re thrilled to plant permanent roots in this community.”

The other co-founders are David Wiseman, who is Nick’s cousin, and chef Ronen Tenne.

Nick Wiseman said in an interview Thursday that the new shop will employ roughly 30 people, and be open seven days a week. The owners want to open by year’s end, but much depends on the county’s permitting process and other factors, he said.

Bethesda is not far from where Wiseman grew up in D.C. He said he’s “excited to come to the neighborhood.”

“It’s a nice convergence of where people live, work and play … [and with] everything that’s happened in the last year, it’s kind of important to hit on all of those things,” Wiseman said of locating in Bethesda.

Little Sesame’s other two locations are at 1828 L Street NW and 736 6th St. NW in D.C.
