Swiss Pastries, in the Twinbrook area of Rockville, has closed for good. The company’s vice president cited a difficult business climate as the reason.
The bakery, at 2377 Lewis Ave., posted on its website that it was accepting orders through Oct. 25, then would be permanently closed after that.
Vice President John Hohl wrote in an email to Bethesda Beat on Wednesday that it is “becoming almost impossible for small business owners to stay afloat” in the county.
Swiss Pastries opened in 1977, according to the bakery’s website.
