A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle at 8:41 p.m. Thursday in the area of Rockville Pike and Talbott Street in Rockville, according to Montgomery County police.
Police determined through their preliminary investigation that the bicyclist had entered the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike, when struck by a black 2015 Mercedes traveling southbound, the police stated in a news release.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, police said.
According to the MCPD, investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
