Quarry House Tavern is back.

The Silver Spring bar destroyed by water and smoke damage during a March 19 fire that primarily consumed the Bombay Gaylord restaurant located above has moved to a temporary location across the street. The new spot is the former home of Piratz Tavern, which closed at the beginning of April.

Quarry House announced the move on its Facebook page: “The rumors are true, we took over the old Piratz space as a temporary home. Join us tonight for friends and family (that’s you) at Quarry House Temporary.”

Quarry House plans to open at 6 tonight in its temporary location, which is directly across the street from its former location at 8401 Georgia Ave. If you go, make sure to bring cash—the restaurant’s credit card system isn’t operating yet.

There’s no immediate word on how long Quarry House will be at the location (or if the Piratz décor is still up). We’ve reached out to Quarry House owner Jackie Greenbaum and will update this post if we hear more.
