Urban Country

Urban Country’s Rachelle Roth says the wide selection of home goods, fashion accessories and gifts in her Bethesda store are “a feast for the eye.”

“People love it, because when they come here, they know they’re going to see the newest and the best,” says Roth, who opened the store with her late husband, Jeffrey, in 1991. That may explain why Bethesda Magazine readers voted it the best furniture store in 2009 and 2011, as well.

Urban Country also offers a full interior design service, with five designers on staff. Bethesda resident Jennifer Taylor worked with Urban Country designer Margaret Pitrone during a recent home renovation. “They have beautiful merchandise and excellent customer service,” Taylor says. “It’s been really fun working with them, and they’re really knowledgeable.”
