Kind, patient and fun, Dr. Shin has been called a “child whisperer.” After 20-plus years delivering care to families, she is changing perceptions of how kids see dentists. Even more than her academic accolades and awards, she considers that her biggest accomplishment is helping young patients develop and maintain healthy oral habits.
Born in Korea, she grew up in Brazil, and moved to California and fell in love with the United States. After Sept. 11, she joined the Army and worked at Walter Reed. Known for pediatric dental advances, her office offers the best in technology and tailored dental approaches for each child, along with organic dental cleaning and biocompatible materials. “I’ve always loved working with and treating children,” she says. “I relate to their fears of the unknown!”
