A small fire broke out on Connecticut Avenue this morning after a car hit the back of a Metrobus, officials report.
The collision between the bus and maroon sedan happened near Knowles Avenue in Kensington, fire department spokesman Pete Piringer posted on Twitter. Photos from the scene showed the back of the bus was charred, and the car’s hood was crumpled in the crash.
Medics checked out several people, but none of the injuries was serious, according to Piringer. The bus driver was taken to the hospital, he reported.
All lanes on Connecticut Avenue were reopened by noon.
