Medium Rare, a restaurant that serves steak meals on a set menu, is opening Wednesday in Bethesda.

The restaurant at 4904 Fairmont Ave. will serve its first diners starting at 5 p.m., said owner Mark Bucher, the restaurateur who also owns adjacent Community.

The Medium Rare staff was working quickly to complete the final setup for the restaurant at 4 p.m.

There are two other locations of Medium Rare, both in Washington, D.C. The Bethesda location serves the same menu and has a maximum occupancy of 114 people.

Medium Rare offers a prix fixe $20.95 dinner menu of artisan rustic bread, mixed green salad and culotte steak with hand-cut fries. Desserts including hot fudge sundaes and Key lime pie are available for $8. Wine is also available by the glass or bottle.

The restaurant serves a weekend brunch at $25, with options including steak frites and French toast with sausage and drinks including bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas.
