Bharadwaj advocated for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy screenings to be included for newborns Monday while speaking to the Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children.

“God in my backyard” surges in MoCo
A proposed zoning change could facilitate houses of worship to use existing property they own to create affordable housing.
Facilitating Affordable Inclusive Transformational Housing, or FAITH, would involve county’s faith organizations.
Building on the national movement dubbed “God in my backyard,” County Council Vice President Kate Stewart said program could aid congregations in supplementing their income as they have lost memberships over the years.
Stewart added the plan, which could have a final decision in March, would aid the county’s affordable housing crisis with another avenue for potential homebuyers. [WTOP]
