The strong winds will be accompanied by a cold front, heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms, according to NWS.

NWS advised that “gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects” and “tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”

According to the NWS website, winds of 40 mph to 50 mph present “a high threat to life and property.”

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer posted on social media that sustained winds of 40 mph or gusts of 60 mph can cause property damage.

He also said that when driving, people need to exercise extra precaution because high-profile and light-weight vehicles could be pushed off the road or flipped, objects may be blown in their path and dust or dirt flying in the wind can reduce visibility.
