A dog was shot in the leg during an incident early Friday morning in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development, according to Montgomery County police.

Police said officers responded to a report of shots fired around 12:30 a.m. in the area of the 11800 block of Grand Park Ave., which includes numerous businesses such as Sports & Social Bethesda, Summer House Santa Monica, Call Your Mother Deli, IPIC Theaters and H&M.

Police said witnesses reported that there was a dispute between a group of people who began shooting at each other in the upscale neighborhood of shops, restaurants and residences.

A dog, who was with its owner, was shot during the altercation and was transported to a local veterinarian’s office by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel, according to police.

Police said that no people were injured and that no suspects are in custody.
