Stefon Diggs, 30, a Gaithersburg native and NFL wide receiver, was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans on Wednesday.

Diggs played football at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School in Olney and then at the University of Maryland, College Park. The four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was drafted to the NFL in 2015 by the Minnesota Vikings.

He was traded along with two draft picks–fifth and sixth round picks in 2025–to the Texans for a 2025 second round pick. [Montgomery Community Media]

Bethesda doctor charged for illegally distributing prescription drugs

Bethesda psychiatrist Anissa Maroof, 47, was charged with illegally distributing prescription drugs out of her own practice. She was indicted by a grand jury on Feb. 28 and arraigned on April 1. 

Between between 2021 and 2022, she allegedly wrote illegal prescriptions at least seven times for Adderall, Suboxone and Subutex, and Xanax.

She faces seven counts of dispensing or distributing controlled substances outside the usual course of professional practice and one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises. If convicted, she could face up to 30 years in prison. [Fox 5]

Silver Spring Stage will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this month

Silver Spring Stage will perform William Shakespeare’s famous play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” from April 12 to 28.
