Zadia Gadsden, 55, principal of Takoma Park Elementary School for 20 years, was announced as the winner of the Washington Post’s 2024 Principal of the Year Tuesday. Gadsden was recognized for helping students with behavioral dysregulation after the pandemic and using restorative justice practices to approach discipline. Virtual forum to focus on mental health and substance use
Montgomery County’s Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Advisory Council, Mental Health Advisory Council and the Citizen’s Review Panel for Children will be hosting a virtual forum on May 9 focused on providing teens and adults resources for mental health and substance use issues. MCPS superintendent search survey to close Friday
April 26 is the last day for Montgomery County Public Schools’ online survey to gather input from the community about what they are looking for in the next superintendent. The survey is available in Spanish, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Korean, Vietnamese and Amharic. The feedback will be used to create a leadership profile that the Board of Education will use to guide them as they consider candidates. [The MoCo Show]
