Montgomery County police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman in her downtown Silver Spring home on Tuesday.
According to police, the woman was entering her home in the 9200 block of Second Avenue at about 7:55 p.m. when she was confronted by the man, who entered the home and began to physically assault her.
When the man attempted to sexually assault the woman, she fought back and the man ran from her home, police said Wednesday in a release.
The suspect is described as a thin Black male wearing dark clothing who is about 20 years old and about 5 feet 11 inches tall.
Police, who conducted an unsuccessful search for the suspect, are asking neighbors who may have captured the man on home security cameras to call 240-773-5050.
