A shooting occurred during an armed robbery early Saturday on Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring, according to Montgomery County police.
Police responded around 3 a.m. on Saturday to the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue for a reported armed robbery, according to police spokesperson Lauren Ivey.
Source of the Spring reported that the incident occurred outside The Society Restaurant and Lounge at 8229 Georgia Ave., but Ivey did not confirm.
Police determined that four suspects, two possessing firearms, approached a man and demanded his property, and then a group of other suspects approached and fired shots at the group of four. Both groups of suspects fled the scene, Ivey said.
No injuries were reported, and this is an active investigation, according to Ivey.
